General Manager apartment hotel

You will be responsible for achieving all objectives for the footyweb apartments hotels on revenue, profit, market penetration, guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction.

The General Manager will have a bachelor degree education (minimum HBO, preferably Hogere Hotelschool or equivalent ) and at least 3 years experience in the hospitality industry and provable experience as a General Manager.  Detailed knowledge of all hotel aspects is necessary (operations, sales & marketing, human resources, revenue). The candidate also should have proven experience in various marketing fields.

You will work closely with the Regional General Manager  Europe and Regional Team, however on a day to day basis perform independently and pro-actively.

Performance

  • Achieve hotel objectives in revenue, profit, market penetration, guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction. (as defined by Regional General Manager Continental Europe)
  • End responsible for realising the estimated budget by optimising the product and service offered
  • Responsible for realisation and efficiency of the daily operation, by daily checks, observations and reports
  • End responsible for the service level (within budget and forecast) in the hotel
  • Final responsible for realising the estimated budget / occupancy of the hotel through implementing yield management and trainings, both in F&B and rooms department, with the objective to improve the market share compared to last year. Submit well prepared budgets and plan.
  • Controlling the efficiency, productivity and the profitability by drawing up plans and concept budgets (revenue, costs, sales actions). Controlling  realisation and take action when this deviates, developing improvements and implement cost savings and controlling purchase costs, discussing conditions with suppliers
  • Managing duties and tasks via departments heads, amongst others:

Commerciality/ Value

  • Create value whenever initiating actions. Actively communicating within the area and with the other hotels to share market and hotel information.
  • Develop with the help of the team’s innovative new products and services to secure positive business development in the future.

Owner relations

  • Ensure maximum share holders satisfaction and trust.
  • Fully understand all contractual relations between footyweb apart hotels and the shareholders and secure that all obligations are met. Understand, foresee and act proactively regarding any potential conflicts between shareholders’ interests.

Guest relations

  • Overseeing that guest service is according to the footyweb apartment hotel context by creating an environment where everyone in the team is focussed on ‘connecting’ with our guests.
  • Assist the RGM with reference to implement policies and procedures on a longer term, the development of the company policy/profile through proposals for adjustments, investments etc as agreed with the staff.
  • Handling of complaints, problems and emergency situations

Human Resources Management

  • Live and communicate the vision, mission and values of footyweb at all times
  • Managing employee relations and create and keep an open climate, build and maintain trust, support others and be an example to the team members

Marketing

  • Responsible for brand management and product positioning.

Essential Job Skills:

  • Proven track record in hotel and company of similar standards and in a similar capacity preferably within the hospitality industry (minimum 3 years)
  • Proven track record in marketing aspects in hospitality
  • Proven track record in all related fields besides operations: Finance, Sales,  Human Resources, IT (computer information systems)
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to express effectively written and verbal communication in Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of hotel reservations systems and reporting methods
  • Has excellent analytical skills
  • Is able to make decisions based on evaluation of relevant pros and cons
  • Is able and willing to presents ideas coherently and offers evidence to support point of view
  • Is able to act directly in unexpected situations, without losing the objectives
